Kabupaten Buton Tengah merupakan wilayah administrasi dari Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara yang terdiri dari 7 Kecamatan dan 77 Desa/Kelurahan. 66 Desa dari total desa tersebut merupakan desa pesisir dengan panjang garis pantai mencapai 258,231 km. Perikanan menjadi salah sektor penting yang memberikan kotribusi besar terhadap perekonomian masyarakat di Kabupeten Buton Tengah khususnya nelayan. Rumah Tangga Perikanan (RTP) Tangkap

Rumah Tangga Perikanan Tangkap Kabupaten Buton Tengah mengalami peningkatan dari tahun ke tahun. Hasil pendataan menunjukkan bahwa sejak tahun 2019 sampai dengan tahun 2023 mengalami peningkatan yang cukup signifikan dari 2013 RTP menjadi 3769 RTP. Pendataan jumlah RTP dilakukan secara rutin untuk memastikan penambahan atau pengurangan jumlah RTP baik disebabkan peralihan profesi, pindah domisili atau meninggal dunia.

Rumah Tangga Perikanan (RTP) Budidaya

Rumah Tangga Perikanan Budidaya Kabupaten Buton Tengah mengalami peningkatan dari tahun ke tahun. Pemasar Hasil Perikanan

Pemasaran ikan adalah kegiatan yang dilakukan untuk memasarkan hasil perikanan baik dalam bentuk mentah atau olahan untuk dijual, dikonsumsi dan dikenalkan ke masyarakat. Jumlah pemasar hasil perikanan di Kabupaten Buton Tengah pada tahun 2023 tersebar di 7 Kecamatan dengan total 785 orang. Jumlah pemasar yang mendominasi adalah Kecamatan Mawasangka dengan jumlah pemasar 178 orang.

Permukiman diatas laut

Permukiman di atas laut adalah kawasan tempat tinggal yang dibangun di atas permukaan air laut. Permukiman ini dapat berfungsi sebagai tempat tinggal masyarakat, fasilitas pendukung kegiatan ekonomi (misalnya pariwisata atau perikanan), atau infrastruktur strategis.
Berdasarkan UU No. 26 Tahun 2007 tentang Penataan Ruang dan UU No. 6 Tahun 2023 tentang Cipta Kerja, permukiman di atas laut termasuk dalam pemanfaatan ruang laut yang harus mematuhi Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah (RTRW) atau rencana zonasi. Kegiatan ini memerlukan izin seperti Kesesuaian Kegiatan Pemanfaatan Ruang Laut (KKPRL), Izin Lokasi, atau Izin Pengelolaan dari Menteri Kelautan dan Perikanan, serta harus mempertimbangkan keberlanjutan lingkungan, kualitas air, dan mencegah konflik penggunaan ruang.
